A person with a missing tooth (pulled out naturally or knocked out due to an accident) has to deal with self-esteem issues as well as problems in eating or chewing food.
The gap may also lead to the surrounding teeth shifting out of place.
The following are the options for missing teeth replacement:
- Dental implants. Involve minor surgery where an artificial tooth attached to an artificial root is implanted into the gum
- Bridge. Less expensive than implants. Crowns are attached to the two teeth on either side of the gap. The bridge holds the artificial tooth in place.
- Removable appliance. The most cost-effective but less secure missing teeth replacement option. This option requires more maintenance (cleaning) than the other two.
